West and Central Voluntary Sector Network
WCVSN is a membership organisation of approximately 100 voluntary organisations in West and Central & West Glasgow.
It is open to all voluntary organisations that deliver services in this area.
The Network was started in 2007 by a group of organisations from both the West and Central areas of Glasgow who recognised the need for local voluntary sector organisations to be organised and co-ordinated in order to respond to the development of Community Planning. A number of public meetings were held throughout 2007 and as a result of these the Network constituted and secured funding for a development officer in November 2007.
The Network is a registered charity, managed by an Executive Committee of thirteen individuals who are senior officers or board members of member organisations.
The Network has two part-time Network Development Officer’s.
The Network works to provide a coherent and collective voice for the voluntary sector in West and central Glasgow, and to assure the best interest of the communities we work with.
The Network has three main objectives:
- To be a collective voice for the voluntary sector in West and Central Glasgow
- To provide advice, information and support to local voluntary organisations
- To facilitate the input of the voluntary sector into the Community Planning Process locally
